Acoustic Control Design, Sound Contour Map, and Plant Noise Survey
The critical civil affairs has been continuously occurred against high noise level over plant boundary at local society, and those noise sources has been generated from various facilities such as fan, blower, pump, compressor, refrigerator, cooling tower, pipe and HVAC duct, etc. INERTANCE has recently performed the noise study, which includes the acoustic control design, sound contour map, noise criteria assessment and noise survey at site.

1. Scope of this analysis
The scope of service for this noise study below activities;
- Local noise limit assessment
- Detail acoustic control design with drawing & bill of quantity
- Site survey and measurement
- Simulation and contour map as per application of contour measures

2. Local Noise Measurement
With dedicated sound level meter devices, Site noise survey was carried out with below conditions;
- Day and night measurement
- Plant boundary and Local residence
- Sound level meter, Type 1 (Class 1)
- A-Weight, dB(A), Fast, Five (5) minutes
- As per the defined process test method by local government
- Results assessment compared to local regulation

3. Acoustic Control Design – plant noise
Various kinds of acoustic control devices were designed in order to reduce the noise level propagated to outside of plant boundary.
- Noise barrier around plant boundary and cooling tower
- Exhaust duct silencer for HVAC system
- Cooling tower silencer
- Noise enclosures for air compressors & refrigerators
- Acoustic louvers and absorption materials for root blower building
- Noise enclosures for centrifugal fan

4. Noise Contour Map – plant noise
Sound simulation was performed to issue the noise contour map before and after application of acoustic control devices.
- Definition of sound power level (PWL) for noise sources
- Contour map for Day and night time
- Step simulation as per application of acoustic controls
- Assessment of environmental noise level at plant boundary and residence
